JULY WORK IN PROGRESS
What we have been up to in the Fera universe this month .
New Knitwear Label
Inspired by a car that has roamed the land for many a generation, this is our new knitwear-dedicated label. Coming up with label designs has to be one of the more enjoyable parts of it all. Labels should be an art.
Manning the Ship
Jon and his dog Mo at the helm of an Itchen Ferry designed by Arthur Payne of Summers and Payne in 1894. These boats were used for fishing, shrimping and racing and came out of the village of Itchen Ferry on Southampton Water.
Kestrel Knitwear
We loved designing our Double Haul Knit last year and set Beni a challenge of bringing a new instarsia alive for this autumn. This beauty is the final sample of his hunting kestrel.
Three Pikes
Back when we believed, watching England at Groundswell Festival.
New Studio
We moved into the new Fera studio this month on the hottest day of the year. We may have broken a heavy sweat but this new gaff is going to have space for the team to grow.
Hurricane Jacket
A new jacket coming this autumn/winter made from a thick corduroy and inspired by flight jackets. Why Hurricane? It was a plane Sid's grandfather flew back in WWII.
Landscape Label
Another label design for AW26. This one is meant to evoke the sense of a grand, old painting of a British landscape.
BTS on Three Pikes
The team checking on the performance of Mark (in the flatcap) for our Three Pikes campaign. Mark was playing a cricket groundsman, which helped because he's not an actor but is a cricket groundsman.
Woodcock Jumper
We couldn't just do one new intarsia design for this autumn. Alongside the kestrel is this mighty fine specimen. The inimitable woodcock, one of our favourite birds.
Be the Seal
We have to round out this Work in Progress with a recent plunge into the cold Baltic Sea at sunset.
